Advising
If you are currently doing an internship in Wireless Networking, or are planning to do one, make sure to read this guide full of useful tips.
I have advised the following students:
- 2008-2009
- Boyang Zhang is working on building a 16-channel sniffer for channel hopping IEEE802.15.4 MAC protocols during his fall 2009 stay at the Kris Pister's group in UC Berkeley.
- Christopher A. Jian is working on model rocket-based mote deployment during his summer 2009 stay in Kris Pister's lab in UC Berkeley. He is advised by Ankur Mehta, co-advised by myself.
- 2007-2008
- Clément Burin des Roziers has worked on setting up a large scale wireless sensor network experimentation during a 5 month stay at France Telecom R&D Grenoble for a PFE during his curriculum at the Electrical Engineering department, INSA Lyon.
- Guilhem Tesseyre has worked on Music nowadays : paradox between diversity and mass-consumption for a non-scientific project at INSA Lyon.
- Marwen Bayar* has been working on the simulation of cross-layer protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks using the GTSNetS platform.
- 2006-2007
- Michaël Gauthier has worked on wireless sensor network communication protocol implementation on real motes during his 6 month stay at France Telecom R&D Grenoble for a TFE during his curriculum at the Electrical Engineering department, INSA Lyon.
- Yoann Spadavecchia* and Remi Favre* have worked on implementing a realistic radio model on the GTSNetS simulator during a 4-month project at the Telecom department, INSA Lyon.
- Balazs Tirpak has worked on implementing self-organization protocols for wireless sensor network on the GTSNetS simulator during a 6 month stay at the CITI Laboratory. He is from the Budapest Tech Polytechnical Institution, Hungary.
- Wassim Mazraani* has worked on implementing the 1-hopMAC protocol on the GTSNetS simulator during a 4-month project at the Telecom department, INSA Lyon.
- 2005-2006
- Guillaume Vaquero* and Loic Michel* have worked on a data gathering protocol for wireless sensor networks during a 4-month project at the Telecom department, INSA Lyon.
- Mickaël Beaupoil and Valerian Meurant have worked on evaluating the energy consumption and real-time characteristics of a wireless sensor network during a 4-month project at the Telecom department, INSA Lyon.
- Mickaël Beaupoil has worked on blood donors: how to convince people for a non-scientific project at INSA Lyon.
* = students mainly advised by Isabelle Augé-Blum, co-advised by Thomas Watteyne.
