Rahul Narain /'rɑːhʊl nə'raɪən/

I'm a postdoctoral scholar in the Computer Science Division of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. I work with Prof. James F. O'Brien in the Visual Computing Lab. My research interests are in physically-based simulation, particularly of complicated fluid and deformable systems for computer animation and other applications.

In 2015 I will join the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities as an assistant professor!

I did my Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I was advised by Prof. Ming C. Lin in the GAMMA group. I defended my doctoral thesis, Visual Simulation of Multiscale Phenomena, in August 2011.

Before that, I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2006 with a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering.
