How would end-users judge a web site design, depending on the fidelity of the site’s prototype?
Hypotheses
- people will find many of the same usability problems
- people will judge several attributes of design differently
Experiment
- 4 participants evaluated site A with hi-fi, site B with lo-fi
- 4 participants evaluated site A with lo-fi, site B with hi-fi
Results
- many of the same usability problems found in hi-fi and lo-fi representations
- Lo-fi representations look
- less professional, less functional, less finished, likely to change
-> likely to encourage feedback
