I am a Ph.D. student in electrical engineering at UC Berkeley working with Professor Ron Fearing in the Biomimetic Millisystems Lab. I work on designing and building small robots, with the goal of developing a small robot capable of both flying and crawling, and understanding the underlying dynamics of wing-assisted running. I collaborate closely with biologists on this project, and take advantage of the many lessons that can be be learned from the animals that have already mastered multi-modal locomotion. In addition to learning from biology, robots also provide a platform for testing biological hypotheses in a controlled manner.
