About Me

I am a postdoc at UC Berkeley working with Michael Jordan. In 2016, I will be joining USC as an assistant professor in the Data Sciences and Operations department.

Previously, I was a PhD student in Applied Math advised by Trevor Hastie and Jonathan Taylor from the Statistics department. I received a BS in Mathematics from Duke University advised by Mauro Maggioni. I am a native of Cupertino, CA and attended Lynbrook High School.

My current interests are in high-dimensional statistics, machine learning, and optimization. Lately, I have worked on high dimensional statistical inference, model selection consistency of regularized m-estimators, and fast algorithms for matrix factorization and non-smooth optimization.
