Course Syllabus

Announcements

Tue, Jul 24: Here's a couple pdf's from which to draw some sample problems. [Sample 1] [Sample 2] Since the author may not appreciate having the solutions online, I can make them available in class. ONE NOTE: Treat all labelled circuit devices as having purely SYMBOLIC values, regardless of the schematic, i.e. resistor R1 has a value "R1" ohms, NOT the labelled 1 kilo-ohms. (The quantitative labels are an unfortunate byproduct of the circuit publishing software.)

Tue, Jul 17: The midterm is next Friday (July 27). It's closed book and closed notes, but calculators will be allowed. The material will cover what we've done in lecture up to transient analysis of RC/RL circuits.

Thu, Jul 5: Homework 2 is posted. It's due next Wednesday.

Thu, Jun 28: Pre-labs and lab guides for Labs 1 & 2 posted. Also, I encourage anyone who can find the time to attend today's 1 PM seminar on "The Loss Free Resistor" from Tel Aviv Univ.'s Sigmund Singer. Find it in the Wang Room on the fifth floor of Cory.

Wed, Jun 27: I've posted Homework 1. I naively announced in class it'd be due at our lecture next Wednesday, but as someone helpfully pointed out, next Wednesday is Independence Day. Seems the school takes that as a holiday, so let's say it's due next Friday (July 6) instead. I'll still be posting HW 2 on July 4, to be collected July 11.

Mon, Jun 25: Keep your eyes on this space. I promise to fill it with the choicest of materials, including YOUR FIRST HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT, coming Wednesday afternoon!
