Material: We'll primarily use Boyd and Vandenberghe's book on convex optimization, and related material. Lots of background material (eg, on linear algebra) can be found on the hyper-textbook here.
Homeworks: there will be about 5 Homeworks, which require the use of Matlab.
Exams: There is no final but a project.
Project: details on the project coming up soon. For now, consider teaming up in groups of three to four (maximum).
Discussion section: There is one scheduled discussion section ( W 6-7P, 126 BARROWS.).
Software: for the homeworks, we will use the free matlab toolbox called CVX. CVX is installed on the instructional network, but you can also use it on your own machine if you have matlab.
