Research

Greetings! I am a fourth-year computer science Ph.D. student at UC Berkeley. My advisor is Prof. John Canny, whom I work with on the BiD Smart Space project. My main research interest is in human computer interaction, particularly in speech-enabled ubiquitous computing technologies. My current work involves employing large aperture microphone arrays for hands-free speech acquisition, speech enhancement, and speaker localization/tracking in complex room acoustic environments. I also hold a strong interest in Computer Supported Group Work, in both understanding and supporting collaboration among multiple users. Classes I have taken.

In 2002 and 2003, I received Bsc and Bsc(hons) degrees in Computer Science from the University of Queensland and Griffith University, respectively. I worked with the Internet Computing Group at Griffith from 2003 to 2005 on converting off-the-shelf single-user applications into real-time collaborative applications without modifying the original application's source.
