• Dr, Mukund Thattai, faculty member at The National Center for Biological Sciences gave two talks, "Gene networks in theory and practice" and "Encoding evolvability," during his visit this summer.



• Rajiv Laroia, senior vice president of engineering for Qualcomm Flarion Technologies, visited in June and gave a talk on "Lessons Unlearned in Wireless."



• Salman Avestimehr, Alexandros Dimakis, Krishnan Eswaran, Dan Hazen, Paolo Minero, Bobak Nazer, Hari Palaiyanur, Anand Sarwate, Jonathan Tsao, Sameer Vermani and June Wang earned their Master's degrees. Congratulations!



• BAD 2006, the Bay Area Day on Signals, Information, and Control was held on June 2nd, 2006 in 290 Hearst Mining. The symposium was hosted by Michael Gastpar and David Tse from Berkeley and Balaji Prabhakar and Tsachy Weissman from Stanford.

• A new guide on LaTeX usage complete with customized templates has been added as part of the resources section. Much thanks to Anand Sarwate for putting this together.



• There will be an MSRI workshop on The Mathematics of Relaying and Cooperation in Communication Networks cohosted by Michael Gastpar on April 10-12, 2006.



• The members of the Wireless Foundations would like to extend our deepest condolences to Professor Eugene Wong and his family for the untimely passing of Joan Wong. Our thoughts and wishes are with him and his family in this sad time.
