Information for Alumni

An Open Letter to EECS Alumni:

As an EECS alum, you are a member of a group that has been responsible for more innovation and development in the areas of microelectronics and information technology over the past fifty years than any other in the world! Consider your distinction with pride.

I hope that you will continue to maintain your connection with Cal and specifically, with our department, one of the world's leading research institutions. Here are some opportunities:

  • Let your employer know the value of your Cal degree.

  • Come back to Cal for the Colloquium! Spend a Wednesday afternoon at the EECS Joint Colloquium & Distinguished Lecturer Series. Prominent and inspiring speakers addressing the most engaging and pressing problems of the day at 4 pm in 306 Soda Hall.

  • Introduce your company to Cal for research collaboration.

  • Get involved in technical seminars in your area.

  • For College of Engineering alumni, log in through the Engineering@Cal site. Become a Career Networker - be available to other alumni and students seeking advice and contact.

  • Offer us feedback about how our new EECS website can better serve you as an alum.

As always, your financial donations to the department have a tremendously important impact on the services we can provide current students. If you would like to make a financial donation or have an idea for an innovative contribution, please contact Erica Morrison in our development office. You can easily make an online gift to EECS through the Berkeley Engineering Fund by specifying EECS in your special instructions.

I deeply appreciate your support and involvement in the life of the department.

With warmest regards,

Jitendra Malik
Professor and Chair, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
