Special Licensing/Distribution Restrictions for Software Releases from the SAMPLE Group
The dates at which various versions of the SAMPLE programs can be exported outside of the United States are shown in the chart entitled Software Releases from the Sample Group Also shown on this chart are the sponsors of the work who should be acknowledged. Both the eligibility export date and sponsors should be specifically referred to in the software agreement for SAMPLE programs. This software agreement form, which is different from the software license agreement form customarily required for our software/documentation purchases, must be submitted with your letter of assurance and order form.
The SAMPLE software agreement forms are available via anonymous FTP from ilpsoft.eecs.berkeley.edu or via fax/email. Please contact our office if you need further clarification.
Remember, signed copies of both software agreements and the letter of assurance (in anticipation of the export restrictions maturing) must be included with your order.
Foreign Distribution: These SAMPLE programs may only be exported outside the United States if the export eligibility date of a specific program has already passed. As an example, SIMPL-System 6 may only be exported after July 1, 1996. You must also abide by the Exports Administration Regulations of the U.S. Department of Commerce (see letter of assurance sample, located on the reverse side of the order form, for a list of restricted countries).
