Luca Berardi was a visiting scholar for Profess Shankar Sastry from August 15, 1999 to February 28, 2000. He worked in the field of hybrid systems control.
Per Bjureus did research with Professor Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli on High-Level System Specification, and examining the performance estimation of embedded systems specified with SDL and Matlab. He was here from July 01, 1999 until December 31, 1999.
Giuseppe Calafiore visited the EECS Dept. from October 01, 1999 until January 30, 2000. He was working with Professor Laurent El Ghaoui in the field of linear systems and control theory. In particular, his research activity focused on robust estimation and control for systems subject to uncertainty, using LMI and convex optimization based techniques.
From January 01, 2000 until June 30, 2000, Pascal Chabert visited Professor Michael Lieberman as a visiting scholar. He came to the EECS Dept. to complete assembly and testing of time-resolved measurements on negative ion densities in the reactor.
Professor Shankar Sastry invited Karl Johansson to stay in the EECS Dept. from July 15, 1999 until August 31, 2000, as a visiting scholar.
Alexei Joukov visited the EECS Dept. as s visiting scholar from May 12, 2000 until August 19, 2000. He worked with Dr. Eicke Weber in the framework of NATO Science for Peace project.
Yong-Sang Kim came to EECS to work for Professor Tsu-Jae King on thin-film transistor technologies. He visited July 15, 1999 until July 14, 2000.
Professor Charles Birdsall invited Marisa Roberto as a visiting scholar to research microwave and RF plasma processing discharges, using analytic modeling and plasma simulation. Dr. Roberto was here from February 15, 1999 until June 15, 2000.
Kaushik Roy was invited as a visiting scholar to start October 20, 1999 and end on January 02, 2000. He worked with Professor Jan Rabaey.
Philippe Schmid
Philippe Schmid came to EECS as a visiting scholar for Professor Avideh Zakhor and worked from October 09, 1999 until July 30, 2000. He worked in real time video communication for remote operation of electron microscope facilities.
Hiroyuki Shinoda
Hiroyuki Shinoda worked for Professor Ron Fearing on haptic interfaces from September 06, 1999 until September 05, 2000.
