Notes About Handling Data

• If the survey has lasting importance, export a copy to xls/csv (Microsoft Excel or comma-separated values) and keep it in the appropriate place on the \\project\chair share.
• You may not collect social security numbers or other SB 1386-protected data. If you require this information for a valid reason, please contact Jan Pardoe.

Quick Decision Guide

• Surveys
  If you would like to conduct a survey, we have a paid account for SurveyMonkey Pro that can be used by anyone in the department. Please contact acg@eecs for the login information.
• Event Scheduling Polls
  If you simply need to conduct a poll to schedule an event, use doodle.
• Polling From a Web Page
  If you maintain a web page and would like to conduct a poll from that page, consider using micropoll
• Shared Surveys
  Many of the faculty already use Google Docs so that might be the best choice if you need to collaborate with them on your survey.
