Excess and Salvage

Disposal of electronic items.
NOTE: All computers are required to have their hard drives wiped clean to ensure sensitive data doesn't get distributed to the public. The owner of the computer should do this, but technically the owner's department is ultimately responsible for ensuring there is no data or other software on the drive.

One or Two Items
If you only have 1-2 small electronic items, contact Shipping and Receiving (erso-receiving@erso) to pick them up.

Cartloads of Items

  • Contact the Cory Hall Building Manager or the Soda Building Manager. They will request an electronics salvage cart from Central Receiving. This usually takes about 1 week to be delivered.
  • The cart will be delivered to the requester's room or hallway outside the room. The requester usually has 1-2 weeks to fill the cart.
  • Once the cart is full, contact your Building Manager to schedule removal/pick-up.

Inventory
Occupants should inventory any electronics with UCPD property ID labels or barcodes. The inventoried list should be submitted to erso-inventory@erso so they can be removed from our department inventory.
