The goal of this project is to develop high conversion efficiency (>20%) using high quality III-V compound-based three-dimensional micro-structures on silicon and poly-silicon. This will enable the manufacturing of solar cells with high efficiency at very low cost because of a drastic reduction of material expenses. This project will address the barriers that currently hamper the performance of solar cells based on three-dimensional micro-structures and deliver a blueprint to achieve high efficiency solar cells.
