Microgrid Modeling for Energy Management Gateway Definition

We are investigating the system level design space for managing energy in the next generation electric grid. This will include a substantial amount of highly volatile renewable and electric vehicle loads superimposed on the standard load usage profiles. Distributed energy management gateways will be added to the grid infrastructure to handle scheduling of EV charging, real-time pricing, and variability associated with wind/solar sources. These management units will also have local weather prediction capabilities to estimate output capabilities of renewable supplies.
