Designing moderate to high resolution analog-to-digital converters is becoming more and more difficult in new technologies with low voltage supplies and low intrinsic device gains. To overcome these issues, digital signal processing techniques for correction of analog circuit non-idealities seem to be a promising solution. In this project we are using an LMS algorithm to perform the background calibration of a crappy pipelined A/D convertor and we are investigating techniques that could speed-up the calibration algorithm.
