The International Collaboration for Advancing Security Technology (iCAST) project is a joint research and development initiative between the TRUST Center at UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, and several universities and research organizations in Taiwan, led by Academia Sinica.
The purpose of iCAST is to enable international collaboration and encourage and facilitate the discovery of information security technologies. iCAST has established an international team that is jointly tackling a number of information security issues of interest to both the US and Taiwan. Topics being researched are privacy and security for ubiquitous computing, security for wireless systems and wireless sensor networks, and network security issues related to intrusion detection and management.
