Parallel Transient Circuit Simulation Using Domain Decomposition

The focus of this research is to develop an accurate and efficient transient circuit simulation tool in a distributed computing environment. We have developed an effective domain decomposition algorithm to partition the circuit based on circuit structures. Once the circuit is partitioned, sub-circuits are solved by distributed processing units.
We propose extending our method to handle circuits with hundreds of millions of elements and continue to work on a domain decomposition partitioning algorithm and adaptive time step control techniques to further improve overall simulation performance.
