Declarative Specification of Datacenter Services

Large scale internet datacenters are becoming increasingly complex, and managing the configurations of many thousands of servers is becoming too difficult for human operators. This has led to the creation of many ad-hoc scripts and monitoring solutions. We are proposing a new framework in which operators specify declaratively what should run in a datacenter, and resource allocations are determined by a director using statistical machine learning.
