Graphics and Human-Computer Interaction (GHCI)
OverviewThe Computer Graphics Group is a research group within the EECS Department in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Our research includes scientific visualization, physically-based rendering, animation, computer-aided geometric design, rapid prototyping, computer aided cornea modeling and visualization, medical imaging, tele-immersive environments for georgaphically distributed collaboration, and virtual environments for surgical simulation. The Human-Computer Interaction Group studies interaction in future computing environments including the office, home, mobile and medical. Emphasis on context-aware systems, perceptual interfaces (like computer vision and speech), visualization and learning technologies. The group works in several spaces: the BID lab. This 4000-sq ft lab is design to foster collaboration, and houses about 25 students from CS, ME, BioE and Art practice. The Tele-immersive lab has about 10 students and postdocs from EECS ,Humanities and Dance department and has extensive collaboration with faculty from Uiniversity of Illinois in Urbana -Champaign.
