This report describes several applications of versions 1 and 2 of SIMulated Profiles from the Layout (SIMPL)). These programs, developed by Grimm and Lee were used to simulate MOS, bipolar, and advanced processes. Of particular interest were the test structures in the Advanced Berkeley CMOS (ABCMOS) project. Several cases of these applications are documented here as examples. From the applications, the current capabilities of the programs are evident, along with areas in need of expansion.
