RELAX2: A Modified Waveform Relaxation Approach to the Simulation of MOS Digital Circuits

Waveform Relaxation (WR) algorithms have been proven to be effective in the transient analysis of large scale integrated circuits. A new waveform relaxation simulator for MOS digital circuits, RELAX2, is described. Several speedup techniques included in RELAX2, such as adjusting the length of the inteval of simulation, using simpler models in the first few iterations, and allowing looser timestep control in the first few iterations, are also presented.
