Weekly Women's Break Time

"Break Times" sponsored by
AUWICSEE, the Association of Undergraduate Women in CS and EE. Break Time will be held on
Tuesdays, 12:00 -1:00 pm in 411 Soda for the Spring 2005 semester.

Monthly Mentoring Lunch

Undergraduate women are invited to lunch with graduate women in EECS every last Friday of each month from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in the Wozniak Lounge,
Soda Hall. To verify the location, be sure to check the WICSE (Women in CS and EE) schedule
of lunches. For Spring 2005, mentoring lunches will be held on January 28th, February 25, April 1st and April 29th.

BWISE

Started in the 2002-2003 school year, is the student-run group BWISE (Berkeley Women in Science & Engineering)
which brings together women from across the science, math and engineering disciplines. Some activities of BWISE
include: trips to local areas of interest such as campus laboratories, Clorox labs, and Chabot Observatory; social
outings like rockclimbing or visiting the Exploratorium; and mentoring young scientists and engineers.

Grace Murray Hopper Women in Computing
Conference
In September 2002, 28 UC Berkeley EECS women students had the opportunity to connect with the larger
community of women in computer science at this stimulating and informative
event. Several students were awarded travel scholarships from Hopper, and additional
students received departmental and corporate scholarships.
Nine undergraduates, five graduate students and three staff
attended this cutting-edge conference in beautiful Hyannis, MA.
