Spring 2008 EECS Faculty Advising Information (for Scheduling of Fall '08 Classes) – READ CAREFULLY!
Faculty Advising will take place Monday, April 7th - Friday,
April 18th. TELE-BEARS starts Monday, April 14th
beginning with seniors and descending class level.
You MUST meet with your faculty advisor in order to receive your advising code to register
for Fall 2008.
You may view the binder of Advisor Assignments in 308 McLaughlin or 205 Cory Hall.
You will be informed via e-mail during the week of April 1, 2008 if your faculty advisor has chosen individual or group advising along with where and when your group session will take place.

If you have any other questions regarding your faculty advising session, please contact YOUR FACULTY ADVISOR
If you cannot attend your faculty advisor's group session, please stop by their office hours or make an appointment to meet with them.
Professors' office hours may be found at http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/Faculty/Lists/list.shtml . If their office hours are not listed, contact the professor or their assistant.
If you cannot, for some really good reason, meet with your assigned faculty advisor during the Faculty Advising period, please seek advising from any faculty advisor in your option. Then, with a faculty advisor's signature, you may obtain your advising code from staff in 205 Cory Hall.
NOTE : You will NOT receive your advising code until a Faculty Advisor has advised you. NO EXCEPTIONS!

TELE-BEARS Registration Information
FYI : Phase I of Tele-Bears registration begins April 14th
with graduating seniors and descends in class. Students who miss their appointment time may still register after their appointment time during open hours 7-8 am and 7 pm -midnight Monday through Friday.
WHAT TO DO TO REGISTER:
1. Do some preliminary thinking about what courses to take.
2. See your Faculty Adviser to discuss your program. (If you do not know who your faculty adviser is you can check in 308 McLaughlin Hall or
205 Cory Hall.) TAKE YOUR DEGREE CHECK AND A COPY OF YOUR BEAR FACTS UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT WITH YOU. Degree checks are available in 308 McLaughlin Hall starting March 20th if you have not already picked it up.
3. Complete your Tele-BEARS Schedule form (also available in 308 McLaughlin Hall) and have your Faculty Adviser sign it.
4. Your Faculty Adviser will give you your adviser code.
5. Turn in your white copy of the Tele-BEARS Schedule form to 308 McLaughlin Hall. (Failure to do this may result in the blocking of your registration).
6. Register for courses through Tele-BEARS.
7. Report any changes to your technical program to your Student Affairs Adviser.
8. NOTE : E 190 is required for your major. Please be warned that it is very difficult to enroll in this course. Do not leave this course to your last semester or if you do, be sure to make it a priority course in Phase I. Also, please be advised that you must take the placement test at the appropriate time before the class begins. Information on the placement test can be obtained in 230 Bechtel. You will not be allowed to take the course if you have not taken the test.
9. ** Fall 2008 Graduating Seniors should make an appointment with their Student Affairs Adviser in 308 McLaughlin for a FINAL DEGREE CHECK **
