“Research and strategy is an integral part of the fixed income sales and trading effort of our firm. Our Fixed Income Strategy and Analysis Department provides analytic and strategic support for the sales, trading, and origination efforts of Citi’s fixed income brokerage business. Our research teams work closely with the sales force to provide our customers with quantitativebased insights into market dynamics, develop trade ideas, build asset pricing tools, and relativevalue models. We also assist our traders in development of new financial products by creating quantitative asset pricing, hedging, and risk management tools for proprietary trading. In addition, we assist customers, trading desks, and Citi as a whole in managing the market risk on their portfolios.

“I will describe Citi’s Fixed Income Quantitative Research Department. My presentation will focus on departmental organization, educational backgrounds of our staff, job functions within research, opportunities for internships and staff positions, and what we look for in successful candidates.
