About the Internship Program - Information for ILP Member Companies
The University of California, Berkeley EECS Internship Program places top
Berkeley EECS students in competitive and challenging summer assignments
in industry. The program was established in 1989 with the goal of professionally
developing our students prior to graduation. Our mission is to serve both
the students of the Berkeley EECS department as well as the high tech companies
that participate in EECS industrial programs.

The EECS Internship Program builds upon existing relations with members of
the Berkeley EECS industrial programs.
It is a joint effort between the EECS Center
for Student Affairs and the Industrial
Relations Office (IRO).
EECS Member companies get the following benefits :
1) Direct contact to Berkeley EECS students.
2) Widespread
publicity: The program is coordinated through the EECS Center for Student Affairs– located at the heart of the Berkeley EECS community. Center
staff provide publicity at the department level, utilizing banners,
flyers, webpages, email and informational workshops to inform and prepare
students to apply for the program. Each
year hundreds of students attended the EECS Internship Open House.
The
Open House is a career-fair style event showcasing the internship companies’ summer
opportunities. Past interns joined hiring managers and human resources staff
to inform prospective interns about employment options.
3) Assistance with information sessions and possible student interviews on campus.
4) Feedback from interns highlighting their experiences.
