VIF Testimonials
"...Because my work in the company is doing research in the field of semiconductor devices, I considered Stanford and Berkeley which are both famous for their activities in the field. I liked the frank and natural attitude of UC Berkeley so I decided to come to Berkeley. |

"...I chose UC Berkeley because of the Chess program and the interest of Infineon in this program. I graduated more than 10 years ago, so this was a very good technology update for me. Being a VIF in EECS opens the horizon. The payback does not necessarily come right after returning to the home location, but the gain in experience and knowledge definitively does pay off after some months." - Jens Harnisch, Infineon |

"...My other choices were UCI, and UCSD. The reason why I chose UCB is that the research activity in UCB. It is close to and attractive for my career. |

"...I really admire Prof. Neureuther and wanted to join Prof. Neureuther's group, so I didn't consider any other university. Normally, I have weekly meeting with my host professor and graduated students. When I got troubles regarding my research, they helped and gave a ton of advice. The most valuable experience is that I could study in a different culture. Japanese researchers tend to work from the view point of business. We can work from not only business view but academic view. |

"...EECS at UCB has many excellent professors and we can attend their lectures and meetings. I attend seminars once a week on average and audit 2 classes. I attend a group meeting every week. I think both auditing classes taught by excellent lecturers and attending seminars presented by many people with backgrounds are very good opportunities for me. Futhermore, there are many smart students to have discussions with. |
