BSAC and the UC Berkeley Microlab will be conducting open house and posters relating to several exciting new research programs such as:
A) mm-wave plastic injection molded waveguides and antenna... important results, and this does exist in physical form.
Contact: Prof. Liwei Lin et al: Yingqi Jiang yqjiang@berkeley.edu
B) MEMS-based particle monitoring system...This does exist in physical form, will be used for urban environmental monitoring.
Contact: DICK WHITE rwhite@eecs.berkeley.edu
C) refrigeration based on Micro Wankel engine There is a physical manifestation of the engine that could be shown. -Al Pisano et al: ARCTIC
Contact: Josh Heppner jheppner@newton.berkeley.edu DAVID WALTHER
D) :MEMS scanning intraveneous microprobe for Optical Coherence Tomography. Don't know if he can show his sample. -Dr. Dan McCormick et al
Contact: DAN MCCORMICK dmcc@eecs.berkeley.edu
E) MEMS scanning mirror for optical laser ablation (eg laser/lasicsurgery).
-Richard Muller Hyuck Choo et al
Contact: HYUCK CHOO: dmcc@eecs.berkeley.edu
F) MEMS Magnetic immunosensor for disease antibody detection. There existssome form of physical devices but is this showable?
-Bernhard Boser et al
Contact: OCTAVIAN FLORESCU florescu@eecs.berkeley.edu
G) Direct Image Actuated Optical Tweezers or OET for nanoparticle manipulation (he showed this or these at the Dec 14 CITRIS event but maybe
his students would be willing to a repeat performance. -Ming Wu
