FIND A RESEARCH ADVISOR (for new, first-year grads). 4a. GET A RESEARCH ADVISOR! 4b. GET A RESEARCH ADVISOR or face probation! 5. THINK PRELIMS 5a. TAKE QUALS as soon as possible. 5b.
