BART

  • Exit the train at the Downtown Berkeley BART station, on the Richmond/Fremont or Richmond/San Francisco lines.
  • Exit the station at Shattuck Avenue & Addison Street. You may continue to campus on foot (go one block east on Center street, the campus entrance is on Oxford and Center) or take the campus shuttle to Cory / Soda Hall (see below).
  • BART schedules

Bus

AC Transit bus service provides transportation for commuters to and from San Francisco and throughout Alameda and Western Contra Costa County. There are several AC bus lines that stop near the Downtown Berkeley BART station, which is across the street from the campus shuttle stop, and one block from campus.

The line 52 and line F buses stop at the corner of Hearst and Gayley, right next to Cory and Soda Halls.

Campus Shuttle from Downtown Berkeley to Cory / Soda Halls

The campus shuttles run Monday through Friday and cost $1 for visitors without campus ID cards.

  • The downtown Berkeley stop is on Shattuck Avenue, near the corner of Addison Street, in front of Arinell Pizza (next to the Bank of America ATM). [See Map]

  • Either of these shuttles going north on Shattuck will take you to Cory/Soda:
    • P1 Line (Perimeter Line Around Campus), 7 am - 7:30 pm (map / schedule)
    • P2 Line (Central Campus), 6:45 am to 7:15 pm (map / schedule)

    Get off at the 4th stop, Cory Hall: Hearst Ave @ LeRoy Ave. .

  • The 2nd floor entrance of Cory Hall is next to the stop. Soda Hall (mottled green tile facade) is across the street, on the corner of Hearst & LeRoy.

Driving Directions to Campus

From Northbound Highway 101 (Daly City)

  • Exit to San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge
  • Exit to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
  • Exit University Avenue. Veer to your right, heading East, towards the Berkeley Hills
  • Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street.
  • See Directions to Cory Hall or Soda Hall

From Westbound 24 (Contra Costa County)

  • Take 24 through the Caldecott Tunnel to Highway 13 Berkeley exit
  • Continue on 13, Hwy 13 becomes Ashby Avenue near the Claremont Hotel
  • Turn right at Shattuck Avenue
  • Turn right at University Avenue and continue east one block to Oxford Street
  • See Directions to Cory Hall or Soda Hall

From Westbound Highway 13

  • Highway 13 becomes Tunnel Road
  • Continue on Tunnel Road. Tunnel Road becomes Ashby Avenue near that Claremont Hotel
  • Turn right at Shattuck Avenue
  • Turn right at University Avenue and continue east one block to Oxford Street

From I-80 East or West (San Francisco, Sacramento, Richmond, Vallejo)

  • Exit University Avenue
  • Continue east on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street.

From Westbound I-580

  • Exit I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
  • Exit at University Avenue
  • Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street

From North I-880 (San Jose; Hayward; Oakland Airport)

  • Head north on I-880
  • Exit 80 East (to Berkeley-Sacramento)
  • Exit at University Avenue
  • Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street

Driving Directions to Cory Hall

To get to campus by car, please see the Directions to Campus

Once you get to Oxford Street from University:

  1. Take a left (North) onto Oxford
  2. Take a second stoplight right (East) onto Hearst
  3. Follow Hearst along the north side of campus past the stoplight at Euclid Avenue

Cory Hall is located on the corner of Hearst and Gayley, at the north-east corner of campus. If you enter Cory Hall at one of the Hearst entrances, you will be on the second floor. If you need information or further directions in Cory Hall, contact the EECS receptionist in room 253 (2nd floor) at (510) 642-3214 or e-mail at eecsoffice@eecs.

Driving Directions to Soda Hall

To get to campus by car, please see the Directions to Campus

Once you get to Oxford Street from University:

  1. Take a left (North) onto Oxford
  2. Take a second stoplight right (East) onto Hearst
  3. Follow Hearst along the north side of campus past the stoplight at Euclid Avenue

Soda Hall will be on the left at the corner of Hearst and LeRoy. It is a large green tiled building with arches. If you reach the Hearst/Gayley intersection, you've gone too far.
If you need information or further directions in Soda Hall, consult the Soda Hall reception desk, 387 Soda, csoffice@cs. Enter the esplanade at Hearst Ave and go through the first door into the building on your right. Take an immediate right through the double glass doors.

To get to campus by car, please see the Directions to Campus

Once you get to Oxford Street from University:

  1. Take a left (North) onto Oxford
  2. Take a second stoplight right (East) onto Hearst
  3. Follow Hearst along the north side of campus past the stoplight at Euclid Avenue

On the right (looking south) at the corner of Hearst and LeRoy is Cory Hall. HMMB is next door to the south of Cory Hall.
