### Description

Catalog Description: (4 units) Four hours of lecture and one hour of recitation per week. Continuous and discrete-time transform analysis techniques with illustrative applications. Linear and time-invariant systems, transfer functions. Fourier series, Fourier transform, Laplace and Z-transforms. Sampling and reconstruction. Solution of differential and difference equations using transforms. Frequency response, Bode plots, stability analysis. Illustrated by analysis of communication systems and feedback control systems.

Prerequisites: EE 20n, Mathematics 53, 54.

Course objectives: This course introduces mathematical techniques used in the design and analysis of signals and systems. The intention is to promote an understanding of the fundamental systems concepts in electrical engineering fields such as communications, control, and signal processing.
