ABSTRACT: In this talk, I will give an overview of some of the exciting research going on in the Department in the areas of Solid State Electronics Technology and Optoelectronics. MEMS is a huge area of research unto itself and will not be covered in this talk. Electromagnetics is an area in which the department has historically had a strong presence, and I will comment on recent thinking on the evolution in this area.
