|
Starting wtih design challenges faced by systems beyong 3G, we will discuss the enabling technologies which will increase the capacity and data rates of these systems by an order of magnitude. We will also look into how to make these broadband wireless networks very flexible and offer multimedia context and content aware communications, service.

| Biography: | ||||
|
Dr. Al Javed has been leading wireless R&D activities in Nortel Networks since 1988. From 1988-95
he was responsible for wireless access systems development leading to the development of Nortel's
first cellular radio products. From 1995-99, he oversaw the development of wireless technologies
for advanced wireless systems and product development for the wireless access business. Since 1999,
he has been leading technology research and advanced product development for Wireless Networks.
Dr. Javed is also the technical prime for the external research program for Wireless Networks.
