-
- Deadlines are firm and real.
- There is no Fall-only FEP participation, and there can be no late or retroactive sign-ups.
- FEP participants forfeit all furlough days during the affected period, and cannot use them for any other purpose than the supported research — including for outside consulting.
- UC Furlough Program FAQ – Extract for faculty members (.pdf)
-
- Faculty members who do not take FEP, and do take the furlough days, should:
-
- Keep track of which days you went "on furlough" (including the 11 that are "mandatory" under the UCOP plan: 7 in December-January [holiday break period] and 4 in March [during Spring Break]. The specific mandatory dates are given in the FAQ; the rest are at your choice except they cannot be taken on teaching days.
- Remember that any outside consulting you do on your "furlough" days will have to be reported, over and above the 39 days regularly allowed, on the Outside Activities Reporting form for 2009-10 that you will submit late next summer.
