I am a PhD student in the EECS department, University of California Berkeley working in the BASiCS group under Prof.Kannan Ramchandran. My research interests include, but are not limited to wireless adhoc networks, optimization, distributed signal processing, statistical learning theory etc.

Currently my research focus is on developing a theory for non-line-of-sight localization. The problem is  fundamentally related to many other problems in different areas such as adhoc network localization, non linear dimensionality reduction, protein molecular conformation, media processing etc.

I also closely collaborate with Prof. Raja Sengupta, Department of CEE, working on problems in Intelligent Transportation Systems and with Dr. Gerald Friedland, ICSI Berkeley, in the area of media-geotagging.

I am a volunteer for SPICMACAY Berkeley and also belong to the Berkeley India Reading Group.

Background:

I graduated with a Masters in Telecommunication from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in July 2008. I worked with Prof. P. Vijay Kumar. My research focus was primarily on developing energy efficient detection algorithms for wireless sensor networks. I also worked on hop-count based self-localization algorithms for sensor networks. This was joint work with Prof.Anurag Kumar.

I worked in Juniper Networks India Pvt. Ltd. from Jul-2008 to Jul-2009 where I worked on the packet forwarding engine of Juniper's EX-series switches.
